Description
During the Ocean House Sabrage Experience, you’ll receive personalized instruction from one of our sommeliers, to guide you on the proper technique for opening a bottle of sparking wine, sparkling rosé, or French Champagne with a saber. Make your choice from a collection of bottles hand-selected by our sommelier, to enjoy after the bottle is triumphantly opened.
About Sabrage: The tradition of sabrage dates back to the French Revolution, when Napoleon—a great enthusiast of Champagne—and his cavalry victoriously passed through towns, and villagers would throw them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand while on horseback, the soldiers used their sabers to strike them open.
